About Us
The Somali Mission (SM) is a faith-driven initiative led by Somali Christians in collaboration with like-minded partners. We are committed to spreading a message of hope, love and humanity throughout Somalia and the wider Horn of Africa. Through our network and partnerships, SM supports persecuted and marginalised individuals and communities by offering moral and spiritual support and encouragement while actively advocating for their rights.
Somalia is a predominantly Muslim nation where minority Christians and other non-Muslims face severe persecution. Public information about the lives of Somali Christians, the growth of the church and the challenges faced by these communities is extremely limited. To address this gap, the SM was established to document credible information about Somali Christians and other long-marginalised groups, while promoting church growth and defending the right to religious freedom and belief in Somalia and across the region.
Our Vision
We envision a thriving Somali Christian community, bold, resilient, and empowered to freely live out their faith within their homeland. Our hope is for a future where every believer in Somalia can worship without fear, share the gospel openly, and contribute to a society rooted in dignity, compassion, and religious freedom.
Our Mission
We are committed to being a voice for the persecuted Somali church and other marginalised communities through the collection and presentation of firsthand, credible information,we aim to inform and educate our stakeholders and supporters by raising awareness of the unique challenges faced by these communities. Our mission is rooted in advocacy, compassion, and a deep desire to see justice, dignity, and religious freedom flourish across Somalia and the Horn of Africa.
